Unified Modeling Language (UML)The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems, as well as for business modeling and other non-software systems. Developing a model for an industrial-strength software system prior to its construction or renovation is as essential as having a blueprint for a building. As the complexity of systems increases, so does the importance of good modeling techniques. UML ensures that the system is understood by all IT professionals, as well as by business analysts. Corifey uses UML modelling to document the system to communicate system design between clients, system architects and developers. For clients UML models have the additional benefit of preserving its investment in software code and removing dependency on a particular team of developers. Once the common model describing the system is established, it becomes possible to subcontract system development and to integrate third-party components into the system.
